Legacy Christian Academy in Beaumont, Texas is actively seeking a dynamic leader with experience in private Christian education for the position of Head of School. The need for excellence in Christian education has never been greater. Could God be calling you to be a part of this mission?

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of School. Legacy is a pre-k through 12th grade school of about 300 students. As the Head of School, you will maintain the effective operation of the school and general administration of all instructional, business, or other operations of the schools. You will also administer and supervise the school and its employees, lead the development of program improvement, foster a culture of positive, engaged learners, and serve as a strong advocate for the school’s core values--including developmental philosophy and parental involvement. Work collaboratively with and provide oversight to the Business Manager, Principals, Maintenance Director, Athletic Director, School Nurse, School Counselor, and Director of Admissions/Registrar. Work with and report to the Board of Directors to provide consistent and effective school leadership. Serves as the head of the Leadership Team and also the Crisis Management Team.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree or higher preferred).
• Minimum five years’ teaching experience.
• Experience coaching and developing staff.
• Experience working with a culturally diverse student body.

Knowledge of:

• Laws and regulations specific to private schools.
• A variety of education approaches to best meet the student body’s needs.
• Budget preparation and control procedures.
• Teacher and student recruitment and retention practices.

Ability to:

• Plan, coordinate, and direct the work and activities of education professionals.
• Manage budgets, prioritize expenditures, and seek innovative methods for providing school resources.
• Promote and market the educational programs and services of the school.

Skilled in:

• Communicating clearly and effectively in both oral and written language.
• Establishing and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with a variety of people.
• Engaging families and the larger community in the life of the school.
